About
OUR SESSIONS
What you can expect:
Nature Exploration
Every activity has some form of nature included into it. Think flowers for fairy wands, soil for a bug exploration tray, dirt for the mud kitchen, and various elements such as: pinecones, bark chips, leaves, and sticks to help assist with imagination and connecting with nature.
Be Barefoot
If you’ve attended a session I’m sure you’d know my son never wears shoes. Our space is suitable for children to take their shoes off and ground themselves. Feel free to let your children be barefoot around our grass area, mulch area, and in the sandpit area.
This is a beautiful way for children to stay grounded and connected with the earth. It exposes children to different textures (soft sand, spiky grass, wet puddles). Our feet have many pressure points and going barefoot can stimulate these points to help with circulation and strengthening their bones.
Search For Bugs
We have a beautiful space with grass and an area with mulch, there’s often lots of bugs hiding that the children love to go looking for.
This encourages a respect for nature and animals, and also gets lots of kids out their comfort zone by holding the bugs.
Child Led
All activities are designed to be led by the child. Your child may explore one station, then move to another, then decide to calm themselves by going to the sand pit area for some free play. This is a perfect example of letting your child explore at their own pace, and in their own time.
This encourages autonomy, decision making, and takes the pressure off parents by surrendering to their child exploring freely.
Various Range Of Activities
Some weeks will be more messy, some will be dry, wet, or crafty. I try to implement activities that suit the age of children that are booked in for that week. I think it’s important to mix it up so children feel comfortable exploring new textures, activities, and environments.
